Mysuru, October 20, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “Maharshi Valmiki has earned a permanent place in the hearts of the people as an inspiration for poets and litterateurs,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He participated in the Maharshi Valmiki Jayanthi program organized by the University of Mysore today. In his address, he explained that there are 24,000 shlokas in the epic Ramayana created by Maharshi Valmiki. “He has remained an inspiration and a guru for many poets and litterateurs. Several books, dramas, and stories are created in many languages based on Valmiki’s Ramayana. Even today, the Ramayana is considered as the most sacred and valuable epic based on facts and has remained an inspiration for the literary world,” he added.
