Bengaluru, Dec.05, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): Agriculture Minister B.C. Patil has informed that the farmers would be provided ‘One District, One Product’ (crop) training, in order to develop the micro food processing enterprises under the unorganized sector, and enhance its competitiveness,.
He conducted a meeting with the Chief of CFTRI and scientists, at his office in Vikasa Soudha today, with respect to the farmers training programme, implemented by Government of Karnataka, under the Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises programme of the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharath Abhiyan, with an objective of encouraging the micro food processing enterprises.
A discussion was held in the meeting on providing training from January 11 to March 30 by the Karnataka State Agricultural Produce Processing and Export Corporation (KAPPEC). The training will be provided in groups of 50 participants, selecting two farmers from each taluk. About 500 farmers will be trained in the six-day duration workshop. The last two days of the training programme will focus on marketing and branding. The Minister also suggested about giving preference to products based on maize, toor and millets.
Sri Jitendra Jadhav, Director, CFTRI, Dr. Umesh Hebbar, Head, Agriculture Department, Manju, Special Duty Officer, Agriculture Department and scientists were present.
