Hassan, July 19, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): MP Maneka Gandhi has written a letter to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai alleging MP Prajwal Revanna of pressurizing to protect a few criminals who killed an elephant.
In the letter, Maneka Gandhi alleged that the MP Prajwal Revanna has pressurized the authorities concerned to protect the criminals who have been held while selling the elephant tusks after killing it.
“An elephant lost its life due to the illegal electrical fence put up by some miscreants. After the elephant died, the miscreants severed the tusks and tried to sell it. They were held red-handedly in Bengaluru while trying to sell the elephant tusks. The Forest Department has registered a complaint and investigated. But MP Prajwal Revanna is trying to protect the miscreants,” Maneka Gandhi alleged in the letter written to Chief Minister Bommai.
A person named Chandregowda had killed a tusker at Veerapura Village. He was caught red-handedly by the police while he was trying to sell the tusks on March 19 at C.K. Achukattu in Bengaluru. The Forest Department Hassan RFO is trying to protect the guilty in this case by bringing pressure on the Achchukattu police. They are doing so because the guilty belong to their party, Maneka Gandhi’s letter read.
She has requested the Chief Minister to interfere immediately and help the forest department officials to carry on an unbiased investigation.
