ಮೈಸೂರು.ಜೂನ್, 18,2022(www.justkannada.in): ನಮ್ಮ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದು ರಾಜವಂಶಸ್ಥ ಯದುವೀರ್ ಕೃಷ್ಣದತ್ತ ಚಾಮರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಮಾನಸ ಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞಾಪ್ರವಾಹ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಡೆದ ವಿಚಾರ ಸಂಕಿರಣವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ನಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಶುರುವಾಗುವುದೇ ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂಡರ್ ನಿಂದ. ನಂತರ ಚಂದ್ರಗುಪ್ತ ಮೌರ್ಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇವೆ. ವೇದಿಕ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏನು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಡುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮ್ಮ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮದವರಂತೆ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ನಾವು ಭಾರತೀಯರಂತೆ ಯೋಚಿಸಬೇಕಿದೆ. ವೇದದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಕಾಣಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಸಂಗತಿ ಇದೆ. ಮಳೆ ಬರಲು ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಯಜ್ಞ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಇದೆ. ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ, ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಬಂದಿದೆ . ಇದು ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ ಕೆಲಸ ಎಂದರು.
ನಮ್ಮ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ಭಾರತೀಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದಿಂದ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ನೋಡಬೇಕು. ಜಪಾನ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರದೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕತಿ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಇದು ಮುಂದುವರಿದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರವಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ ನಾವು ಮುಂದುವರಿಯಬೇಕು. ಬೇರೆ ದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸೋಣ. ನಮ್ಮತನ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಣ ಎಂದರು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಜೀವನದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭಾಗಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಪರಿಚಿತವಾದ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳೇ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಪಾಶ್ಚಾತ್ಯರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕದಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳ ಹೆಸರು. ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳು ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿರಬಹುದು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ದಿಸೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಭಾರತದ ಋಷಿ ಮುನಿಗಳ ಕಾಲದಿಂದಲೂ, ಅಗ್ರಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬಹುದು. ಆ ಕೀರ್ತಿ ಈಗಲೂ ಕೆಲವು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮದಾಗಿಯೇ ಉಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಸುಮಾರು 20 ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಅಂದಾಜು, ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಂಡೊಯ್ಯಲು ಸಹಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ನಿಲುವು ಹಾಗೂ ತತ್ವಗಳು ಉತ್ತಮ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ತಳಹದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಗಿವೆ.
ವ್ಯವಸಾಯದ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ವೈಜಾನಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಳ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಇಂದು ನಾವು, ಅಹಾರ ಧಾನ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬಿಗಳೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಾವು ಬರಗಾಲ, ಪ್ರವಾಹದಂತಹ ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ವಿಕೋಪಗಳ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೂ ಕಂಗೆಡದಂತೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವಷ್ಟು ಆಹಾರ ಧಾನ್ಯ ಸಂಗ್ರಹದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮರ್ಥರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದರು.

Mysuru, June 18, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “We have to see our history through Indian perspective,” opined scion of the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru, Sri Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar.
He inaugurated a seminar on the topic, “Science and Technology during Ancient India,” held as part of the Prajnapravaaha Sammelana, at the Vignana Bhavana, in the Manasa Gangotri campus.
In his address, he said, “Our education begins from Alexander. We will learn till Chandragupta Maruya. We are not taught anything about vedas. Our approach is completely like Westerners. But, we have to think like Indians. Vedas explain how we should look at the nature. We get information how we can get rain by conducting yagnas. Science and technology exists since ancient time. This is indeed an appreciable job.”
“We have to look at our history with an Indian perspective. Japan has retained its own culture. That is why it has identified itself as a developed country. Likewise, we should also continue. Let us received whatever is good from other countries, in the meantime let us retain our culture and traditions,” he said.a
In his address, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore expressed his view that science and technology are important parts of our daily lives. “In India research in the field of science and technology is being done since ages. However, its description might have emerged in different approaches and names due to western influence. But it exists in our country even from the time of sages and saints. As an evidence to this even today we enjoy the pride of several things in several sectors,” he added.
Dr. Ramesh, Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Raghunandan, Regional Convener of Prajnapravaaha, Pradeep, Harshavardhan and others were present.
