ಮೈಸೂರು, ಜೂ.07, 2021 : (www.justkannada.in news ): ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರ ನೆರವಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೈದರಬಾದ್ ಮೂಲದ ಕಂಪನಿಯೊಂದು ‘ಕೋವಿಡ್ -19 ‘ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸರಳ ಹಾಗೂ ನೂತನ ಕಿಟ್ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.
ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಸರಕಾರಿ ಸ್ವಾಮ್ಯದ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯವೊಂದರ ಸಂಶೋಧಕರ ತಂಡವೊಮದು ಪೆಂಡಮಿಕ್ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಉಪಯೋಗವಾಗುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶೋದನೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಳಕೆಗೆ ತರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತ ಕುಲಪತಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಖ್ಯಾತ ರಸಾಯನಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞ ಪ್ರೊ.ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ರಂಗಪ್ಪ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಭವನದ ಸಂಚಾಲಕ ಡಾ.ಎಸ್.ಚಂದ್ರನಾಯಕ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಮಾಲಿಕ್ಯೂಲರ್ ಬಯಲಾಜಿಯ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕ ಡಾ.ಸಿ.ಡಿ.ಮೋಹನ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಬೆನ್ನೆಲುಬಾಗಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು, ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ನೆರವು ನೀಡಿ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರೊ.ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ರಂಗಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದಿಷ್ಟು..
ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಕೋವಿಡ್-19 ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾದ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಏನಾದರು ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಮುಂದಾದೆವು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿವಿ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ.ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಸಹ, ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ಸಮಾಜದ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗುವಂತೆ ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಜತೆಗೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ನೆರವು ನೀಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಸಹ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಲಂಗಾಣದ ಹೈದರಬಾದ್ ನ ಲಾರ್ವೆನ್ ಬಯೋಲಾಜಿಕ್ಸ್ ಪ್ರೈ.ಲೀ ಕಂಪನಿ ನಿರ್ದೆಶಕ ಡಾ. ವೆಂಕಟರಮಣ ಜತೆಗೆ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಸಹಭಾಗಿತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಮುಂದಡಿ ಇಡಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವಾರು ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಅನುಭವ ಸಹ ಹೊಸ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡಿತು. ಕಳೆದ ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷದಿಂದ ನಿರಂತರ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ಇದೀಗ ಕೋವಿಡ್ 19 ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವ ಸುಲಭ ಸಾಧನ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.
ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಿರುವ ಎ.ಆರ್.ಡಿ.ಟಿ ಕಿಟ್ (Antigen Rapid Detection Test Kit) ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಲಭಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಬಹುದಾದ ವಿಧಾನ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಇದು ಪ್ರೆಗ್ನೆನ್ಸಿ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್ ರೀತಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲೇ ಕ್ಷಣಾರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಜತೆಗೆ ಈ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ಶೇ.90 ರಷ್ಟು ನಿಖರತೆ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ವಿಶೇಷ.
ಸದ್ಯ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಬಳಸುವ ಗಂಟಲು ದ್ರವ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೂಗಿನ ಹೊಳ್ಳೆಯ ಸ್ವಾಬ್ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಕಿಟ್ ತಯಾರಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಸಲಕರಣೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಜತೆಗೆ ನೀಡಿರುವ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದಂತೆ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಇದೆಯೋ ಅಥವಾ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಕೆಲವೇ ಕೆಲ ನಿಮಿಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ.
ಬಹುತೇಕ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಳಂಬ ಅಥವಾ ಕಡೆಗಣಿಸಿದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಸೋಂಕು ಉಲ್ಭಣಗೊಂಡು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟ ಅನೇಕ ಘಟನೆಗಳು ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಲಭ ವಿಧಾನದ ‘ ARDT ಕಿಟ್ ‘ ಕರೋನ ಸೋಂಕು ಪತ್ತೆಗೆ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯಾಗಲಿದೆ.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಸಂಶೋಧಿಸಿರುವ ಕಿಟ್ ಬಳಕೆ ಮೂಲಕ ಕೋವಿಡ್ 19 ನ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವೇರಿಯಂಟ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಲಭ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಬಹುದು. ಹಾಲಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್ ಟೆಸ್ಟ್ ಗೆ ಬಳಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಾಧನಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಕರೋನಾದ ಮೊದಲ ವೇರಿಯಂಟ್ ಮಾತ್ರ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಎರಡನೇ ವೆರಿಯಂಟ್ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಲು ವಿಫಲವಾಗಿ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶದ ನಿಖರತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಯ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ, ಶೇ. 40 ರಿಂದ 60 ರಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರ ಖಚಿತ ಫಲಿತಾಂಶ ದೊರಕುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ‘ ARDT ಕಿಟ್ ‘ ಮೂಲಕ ಕರೋನಾದ ಯಾವುದೇ ವೇರಿಯಂಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ಶೇ.90 ರಷ್ಟು ನಿಖರವಾಗಿ ಪತ್ತೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದೇ ಈ ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯ ಹೆಗ್ಗಳಿಕೆ.
ಕಿಟ್‌ನ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಲಕ್ಷಣ
ನಾವು ಅಪ್ಲಿಕೇಶನ್‌ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಹೊಂದಿದ ಬಾರ್‌ಕೋಡ್ ಸ್ಟ್ರಿಪ್ ಅನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಬಾರ್‌ಕೋಡ್ ಅನ್ನು ಸ್ಕ್ಯಾನ್ ಮಾಡಿದ ತಕ್ಷಣ, ಸರ್ವರ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ರೋಗಿಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನವೀಕರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಇದು COVID- ಪಾಸಿಟಿವ್ ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಡಳಿತ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ.
ಈ ಕಿಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಮೋದನೆಗಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಕಿಟ್ ಅನ್ನು “ಮೇಕ್ ಇನ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾ” ಮತ್ತು “ಆತ್ಮಾ ನಿರ್ಭರ್ ಭಾರತ್ ಅಭಿಯಾನ್” ಗೆ ಸಮಾನವಾದ ಧ್ಯೇಯವಾಕ್ಯದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಿಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯವು (ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ) ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಇದು ಕಡಿಮೆ ವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೊ.ರಂಗಪ್ಪ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಈ ಕಿಟ್ ಡೆವಲಪ್ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆ, ಮಾಲಿಕ್ಯುಲರ್ ಬಯೋಲಜಿ ಮತ್ತು ನ್ಯಾನೋ ಟೆಕ್ನಾಲಜಿ, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಟೆಕ್ನಿಕ್ ಗಳನ್ನ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಈ ಕಿಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

Mysuru researchers develop instant COVID-19 testing kit
Mysuru, June 07, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): With the help of the researchers of the reputed University of Mysore, a Hyderabad-based company has developed a very simple instant COVID-19 testing kit.
This is the first time a research team has undertaken the study for the benefit of the people during this pandemic period and has been successful in their venture.
Dr. S. Chandranayak, Convener, Vignana Bhavana, University of Mysore, and Dr. C.D. Mohan, Assistant Professor, Department of Molecular Biology researched under the guidance of Prof. K.S. Rangappa, former Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, and Chemistry Professor. Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore stood like a backbone and extended all the required support to the research team.
Addressing a press meet in Mysuru today, Prof. K.S. Rangappa explained, “Noticing the panic and problems caused by the deadly Coronavirus on the mankind we decided to help the people in some way and started researching. Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, UoM helped us a lot and also suggested we do something so that it will helpful for all. Following this, we discussed with Dr. Venkataramana of the Telangana-based Larwen Biologics Pvt. Ltd and researched in association with them. Experience of research works about cancer inspired us to undertake this new research. This COVID-19 testing kit is a result of our one-year’s efforts.”
It is an Antigen Rapid Detection Test kit and is very easy to use. Just like the pregnancy test it gives you an instant result that is 90% accurate! It is a small kit consisting of tools required for the test. The test is also a simple procedure.
The kit consists of a barcode strip linked with an application. As soon as the barcode is scanned the health condition of the patient will be renewed in the server. It helps the administrative institute to identify COVID positive cases very soon. “We have sent the kit for approval to the Government of India. The kit has been developed inspired by the ‘Make in India,’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bahrat Abhiyan’ and with this theme. The price of the kit will be very less as it is developed by the University (which is a government body),” he explained.
