Mysuru, Feb. 27, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “N. Rachaiah was the person who walked in the path of Buddhism that was shown by the architect of our constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar who followed the path of mass transformation to build matured minds and matured country,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He released the N. Rachaiah Centenary Memory issue, at the one-day seminar on the topic, “Face-to-face of Dalit Movement and Farmers Movement,’ organized by the N. Rachaiah Study Centre of the Political Science Research Department, University of Mysore, held at the B.M. Sri Auditorium in Manasagangotri.
“Ambedkar embraced Buddhism which is based on the principles of consciousness, equality, piousness. N. Rachaiah set an example by naming his children Sujatha, Dharmasena, and Chittaboda. Since he entered public life in the year 1940, till 1989 he was loyal to his principles, promptly followed them, and was committed to social principles,” he said.
Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa, the former minister inaugurated the program. L. Krishnamurthy, Commissioner (Retd.), State Information, R. Dharmasena, MLC, Muzafar Assadi, Chairman, Political Science Study Division were present.
