Bengaluru, Apr.9, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): To stop the intensification of the 2nd wave of COVID-19 Pandemic, the State Government has imposed a night curfew in 8 districts of the state and has issued guidelines.
As the 2nd wave of COVID-19 Pandemic is taking its grip across the state, initiating control measures has become inevitable. As a result of this night, curfew has been imposed in 8 districts, as per Sec. 24 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. The 8 districts where night curfew will be in force are Bengaluru City, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Udupi, Manipal, Bidar, Kalaburagi, and Tumakuru. The night curfew will be from April 10 to 20, 2021, from 10.00 pm to 5.00 am.
The guidelines are as follows:
• Only essential services will be allowed to function during night curfew hours and all other services and traffic will be prohibited.
• People suffering from various ailments and health problems along with one assistant will be allowed to commute to get medical treatment.
• All factories/ companies which work night shifts are allowed. But the employees should reach the offices within 10.00 pm.
• Medical services and emergency activities are allowed and all other commercial activities are prohibited.
• Vehicles carrying essential goods/ services/ home delivery/ e-commerce and empty vehicles will be allowed.
• Movement of long-distance passenger buses, trains, and airplanes is allowed. Passengers should commute along with valid tickets.
• Anybody who violates the guidelines will have to face action as per Sec. 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and Indian Penal Code, and other applicable laws.
