Bengaluru, September 29, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Higher Education Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayana has clarified that the fees of private engineering colleges will not be hiked this year, keeping in mind the after-effects of Corona.
Speaking to the press persons today, he informed that the annual fee of private engineering colleges is restricted to Rs.20,000, and no college can collect more than that. “The Vice-Chancellor of Visveshwaraiah Technological University (VTU) Prof. Karisiddappa has been asked to monitor that no private engineering colleges will collect an additional fee,” he said.
The private engineering colleges had requested the State Government seeking permission to hike the fee by 15-20%. “I have informed that it will be discussed in the coming days, and the private colleges have agreed to it. It is not compulsory to collect a skill training fee. They should collect the fee only after VTU officials visit and permit. They cannot collect the skill fee without the permission of VTU,” he added.
