Mysuru, October 27, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar today expressed his view that there is no need to worry about the new Omicron variant.
He participated in the progress review meeting held at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium in Mysuru today. Health Department officers from various districts attended the meeting.
Speaking about the Omicron new variant, the Health Minister informed that there is need to worry in the State, and however precautionary measures have been already taken. “No decision has been taken regarding making wearing of masks compulsory. One new case has been found in Maharashtra. New COVID cases has increased in America. Instructions have been given to the Deputy Commissioners be alert in the border districts. However, I request all the eligible people of the state to get the 3rd dose of COVID vaccination,” he said.
On the occasion, he informed that all the vacant posts in the Health Department would be soon filled up. Direct recruitment will be made for a few posts and measures will be taken to renovate the K.R. Hospital in Mysuru, he added.
