Mangaluru, July 23, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “If the BJP has any concern for dalits,’ let them select a person from dalit community for the post of CM after Yediyurappa’s resignation,” Siddaramaiah has challenged BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Speaking to the press persons at Mangaluru today, the former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “It is now the turn of BJP to select a dalit as CM. Nalin Kumar Kateel had asked me to select a dalit for the post of CM. In our party, dalits have become CMs. But now it is their turn. Let him make a dalit as CM. They will speak about social justice, then let them prove it now.”
Replying to the media questions about the seers’ support to CM Yediyurappa, Siddaramaiah said the heads of maths should not try politics. “People’s mandate is very essential here, nobody should try to interfere in the party,” he added.
In his response to the phone tapping case, Siddaramaiah said the BJP has left no stone unturned to remove the coalition government. “I have demanded a judicial probe by a Supreme Court judge in this matter. It is nothing but murder of democracy. Tapping the phones of Supreme Court and High Court judges is anti-national. They are not fit to be in power, all are useless,” he said.
