Mysuru, September 21, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): There are still 15 days left for the world-famous Mysuru Dasara. But it is decided to shift the Palace elephants to Gujarat.
A decision has been taken to shift the palace elephants Seetha, Rubi, Gemini and Rajeshwari to the rehabilitation center located in Gujarat keeping in mind the health aspect of these elephants. Srikantadatta Wadiyar had brought these elephants from the Gemini Circus and was looking after them here. It is decided to shift four out of the total six elephants to Gujarat.
It is learnt that the process of shifting of these elephants will begin soon. Senior officials of the Central Forest Department have written a letter regarding shifting of the elephants, to the Deputy Conservator of Forests K. Kamala Karikalan. A letter has also been sent from the Wildlife Protection Institute. These elephants will be shifted only after inspecting its health condition.
