ಪುಂಜಾಲಕಟ್ಟೆ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮೇಲ್ದರ್ಜೆಗೆ ಯೋಜನೆ- ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ.ಕೆ.ಸುಧಾಕರ್

ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ, ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 31,2021(www.justkannada.in): ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಪುಂಜಾಲಕಟ್ಟೆ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ಮರುನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಜಾಗತಿಕ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ.ಕೆ.ಸುಧಾಕರ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಸುದ್ದಿಗಾರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸಚಿವ ಡಾ.ಕೆ.ಸುಧಾಕರ್, ಪುಂಜಾಲಕಟ್ಟೆ ಪಿಎಚ್ ಸಿ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಾಲ್ಕು ಎಕರೆ ವಿಸ್ತೀರ್ಣದ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಒಪಿಡಿಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮಪಡಿಸಬೇಕಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲ್ದರ್ಜೆಗೇರಿಸುವ ಯೋಜನೆಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಬಿ.ಎಸ್.ಯಡಿಯೂರಪ್ಪನವರು ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದೇ ಯೋಜನೆಯಡಿ, ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಮೇಲ್ದರ್ಜೆಗೇರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದರು.

ಇದನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿಸಲು 6 ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವೈದ್ಯರು, ನರ್ಸ್ ಗಳಿಗೆ, ಡಿ ಗ್ರೂಪ್ ನೌಕರರಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವಸತಿ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದರು.

ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ ತಾಲೂಕು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದು, ಕೆಲ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಗೆಹರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ಡಿ ಗ್ರೂಪ್ ನೌಕರರ ನೇಮಕ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಮನವಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ತಜ್ಞವೈದ್ಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಶಸ್ತ್ರಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನಡೆಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶವಿದ್ದು, ಅದನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲು ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೆಲ ಉಪಕರಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಇದ್ದು, ಅದನ್ನೂ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಶಾಸಕರು ಪ್ರತಿ 15 ದಿನಗಳಿಗೊಮ್ಮೆ ಬಂದು ವೈದ್ಯರ ರೋಗಿಗಳ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಆಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು ಬೇಗ ಪರಿಹಾರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದರು.

ಇಡೀ ದಿನ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರವಾಸದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಚಿವ ಸುಧಾಕರ್, ಕುಡುಪು ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರ, ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ, ವೆನ್ ಲಾಕ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಲೇಡಿ ಗೋಷನ್ ಹೆರಿಗೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದರು.

Upgradation of Punjalakatte Primary Health Centre: Dr K Sudhakar, Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education

Mangaluru, March 31: Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education Dr K Sudhakar today said that the Punjalakatte Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district will be upgraded to international standards.

Speaking to journalists after a review of the Dakshina Kannada district health machinery, Dr Sudhakar said that the Punjalakatte PHC, which was built on a four-acre land during British era, required an up-gradation as footfalls have increased manifold.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa has already approved in the recent Budget developing PHCs to global standards and the Punjalakatte PHC will also be developed under the same scheme.

To be developed at a cost of Rs 6 crore, the plan includes development of various facilities and construction of housing for doctors, nurses, and Group D workers.

“I inspected the Bantwal Taluk General Hospital today. The officers concerned have brought to my attention many issues including appointment of Group D workers and procurement of some medical equipment,” he said adding that those issues would be resolved.

The Bantwal Taluk General Hospital has facilities to carry out surgeries but it is not being used currently. The officials concerned have been instructed to take up surgeries at the earliest, he said.

The local legislator is very proactive and he regularly interacts with the medical staff to understand operational challenges, he noted. Government healthcare system will function more efficiently if the local legislators also review their functioning at regular intervals.

The inspection culminated with a review session involving Dakshina Kannada DC, District Health Officer and several officials of the district health administration. Dakshina Kannada MP and District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary also attended the review meeting.

The mortality rate in Dakshina Kannada district may be low at present but that does not mean the guard can be let down in the fight against Covid. I have asked the District administration to strictly enforce the guidelines for travellers from Kerala, he said.

Expressing displeasure over frontline workers not coming forward to take vaccination, he said their move does not inspire confidence among the public.

Dakshina Kannada district is doing well in terms of healthcare but there is a need to do better, he said.

Earlier in the day, the Health Minister toured various parts of the district to review functioning of various government medical facilities and their preparedness for Covid fight.

The four government medical facilities inspected by the Health Minister were Kudupu (Vamanjoor) PHC, Bantwal Taluk General Hospital, Wenlock District General Hospital and Lady Goschen Hospital.
