ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೈಸೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘದ ಜಂಟಿ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾನಸಗಂಗೋತ್ರಿ ಆವರಣ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಭವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ಧ ಪ್ರೊ ನಾಡಿಗ ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿಯವರ ಜನ್ಮ ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವ ವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ಕುಲಪತಿ ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ. ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಮೈಸೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ ವಿಭಾಗ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೈಸೂರು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘದ ಜಂಟಿ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವತ್ತು `ಪ್ರೊ ನಾಡಿಗ ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿಯವರ ಜನ್ಮ ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ನಾವು ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಹಾಗೂ ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ಕುರಿತು ಚಿಂತನೆಯೂ ನಡೆಯಲಿಕ್ಕಿರುವುದು ಸಂತೋಷದ ವಿಚಾರ. ಈ ವರ್ಷ ಪ್ರೊ ನಾಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ನೂರು ವರ್ಷ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರು ಹುಟ್ಟುಹಾಕಿದ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಐವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ. ಇದು ಒಂದು ಯೋಗಾಯೋಗ. ಈ ಎರಡು ಹಬ್ಬಗಳನ್ನ ಆಚರಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆತಿದ್ದು ನಮ್ಮ ಪುಣ್ಯ ಎಂದರು.
ಪ್ರೊ. ನಾಡಿಗ ಕೃಷ್ಣಮೂರ್ತಿಯವರು ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಭೀಷ್ಮರೆಂದೇ ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧರು. ಅವರು ಅಮೇರಿಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ ಕಲಿತು ಬಂದವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ತಾವು ಕಲಿತದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಾರ್ಯರೂಪಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿಸಿದರು.
ನಾಡಿಗರು ಬಹುಮುಖೀ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ಉಳ್ಳವರು. ಅವರು ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರು ಕೂಡಾ ಒಂದು ಜುಬ್ಬಾ – ಪೈಜಾಮ್‌ ಅವರ ಎಂದಿನ ದಿರಿಸು. ಬಹಳ ಸರಳ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ನಾಡಿಗರು ನಿರಂತರ ಕೆಲಸದ ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅನೇಕ ಕನಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಒಂದು ಕನಸಿನ ಕೂಸು ಆಗಿನ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಆಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಅಥವಾ ಇಂದಿನ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ, ನಾಡಿಗರೇ ಈ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯ ಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಆಕಾಡೆಮಿಯು ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹೊರಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಬಯಸಿದ್ದರು.ಇವತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ಜೊತೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯೂ ನಾಡಿಗರ ಜನ್ಮ ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವ ಆಚರಿಸಲು ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದಿರುವುದು ನಾಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ಸಂದ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಗೌರವ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರೊ.ಜಿ. ಹೇಮಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ನುಡಿದರು.

Mysuru, October 21, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “Prof. Nadig Krishnamurthy was a multi-faceted personality. He is known as the ‘Bheeshma’ of Journalism,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated a program organized by the Journalism Department, University of Mysore, in association with the Karnataka Media Academy and Mysuru District Journalists’ Association, held at the Vignana Bhavana at Manasagangotri, on the occasion of Prof. Nadig Krishnamurthy’s Birth Centenary celebrations.
In his address, he said, “Prof. Nadig Krishnamurthy is known as the ‘Bheeshma’ of Journalism across the country. He learnt journalism in America and implemented it in Karnataka. He was a multi-faceted personality and was also a freedom fighter. He was very simple and had a lot of dreams for the development of journalism in Karnataka. One such dream was the ‘Press Academy,’ which is presently the Media Academy. He is the founding president of the Media Academy. It was his opinion that the Media Academy should also shoulder educational responsibility. I feel happy to note that the Karnataka Media Academy is also participating on this occasion,” he said.
