Mysuru, August 25, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): Power Minister Sunil Kumar has informed that the proposal of privatizing ESCOM’s is not before the government.
The Cesc meeting was held at the Government Guest House in Mysutu today under the leadership of Power Minister Sunil Kumar. MP Pratap Simha and Cesc officials were present.
Speaking to the press persons after the meeting Minister Sunil Kumar informed that the proposal of privatizing ESCOM’s is not before the government. “I don’t have any information about the Centre’s bill. The increasing rates of electricity supply is also not in the hands of the government It is left to the ESCOM’s to decide. The government cannot take any decision in this regard. However, privatization will not be made,” he clarified.
In his response to the celebration of the Ganesha festival, he informed that the State Government’s responsibility is to control the COVID-19 Pandemic. “Introducing rules is not a major factor, people should cooperate. The pandemic can be controlled only if people cooperate. It doesn’t mean the Ganesha festival should not be celebrated grandly. But it is important to be cautious. The associations concerned and religious heads should warn the people. The government is cotemplating on easing COVID rules keeping in mind the fluctuation in cases,” he added.
