Vijayapura, October 19, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “I don’t know how many days I will be alive. But I want the regional party to survive even after my death,” opined former Prime Minister H.D. Devegowda.
He participated in the Sindhagi byelection campaign at Chattaraki village, on behalf of the JDS candidate Nazia Angadi. He also visited her house.
Speaking to the press persons after that, he informed that he would stay in the constituency till October 27 and campaign on behalf of the JDS candidate.
Responding to the press reporters question about the Congress party’s allegations on JDS fielding a minority candidate just to defeat the Congress, he said, “We have not fielded the minority candidate for gambling. I have not come here as a BJP agent to sacrifice the life of a girl. God will answer people who are saying this”. He also added that politics had completely spoilt over the years. He also expressed his displeasure with people who win the elections and engage only in making money.
