Mysuru, Mar. 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “The role of teachers, administration, and the government will be very important in the implementation of the National Education Policy – 2020. The State and the Central Governments should provide good cooperation for this,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He inaugurated a one-day workshop on the topic ‘National Education Policy 2020-Future and Way Forward,’ organized by the University of Mysore, at the Vignana Bhavana today.
In his address, he mentioned that the State Budget has caused disappointment because of no allocation for the higher education sector. “Appointment of teachers is very important to improve the quality of education. The government should have given more stress to this,” he said.
“Teaches and the administration should strive for correct implementation of the National Educational Policy. Several programs have already been held in this regard. Now we should get ready for its implementation,” he added.
On the occasion, he mentioned that the National Education Policy 2020 will be a model for other developing countries in the world as it has been developed based on the education model in developed countries, as a result of the efforts of Kasturi Rangan and other experts. We have to think about how to implement it effectively and adopt it,” he observed.
