Mysuru, Nov. 26, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): Prof. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Mysore University today informed that the University had come up with a plan to establish a well-equipped library, dalit documentation center and museum, at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Research and Extension Centre in the University.
Speaking at the Ambedkar Center’s website launching and special lecture programme held on the occasion of the 71st National Constitution Day, at the Vishwagnani auditorium in Ambedkar Center, he explained that the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Research and Extension Center had been functioning well and a project to establish a library, dalit documentation center and museum at a total cost of Rs.6.5 crore had been planned. He requested the Social Welfare Department Minister Sriramulu to release the amount.
On the occasion, he appreciated the efforts of Abdul Karim, Guest Lecturer of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Research and Extension Center and his team in building the website and opined that this website would become a very good platform in sharing Ambedkar’s thoughts and programmes to the people.
Earlier, Social Welfare Department Minister Sriramulu inaugurated the programme. V. Gopalagowda, Retd. Judge delivered a virtual online lecture. Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, Mysore University, Prof. J. Somashekar, Director, Ambedkar Research and Extension Center participated.
