New Delhi, July 11, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The Hon’ble Supreme Court has imposed four months imprisonment to industrialist Vijay Mallya in the contempt of court case.
Vijay Mallya had transferred the money which had received from British Company Diageo. He had transferred a sum of 40 million USD to his children. The State Bank of India had appealed before the Hon’ble Supreme Court against this. The Hon’ble Supreme Court had found Vijay Mallya an offender earlier itself.
Today the Hon’ble SC sentenced him to four months imprisonment and imposed Rs.2,000 fine. In 2020, the SC had quashed the appeal submitted by Mallya requesting to reconsider the 2017 judgement over transferring of 40 million USD to his children resulting in contempt of court.
