Bengaluru, Jan. 13, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has directed the Government to arrive at a suitable decision on taking measures to open Anganwadi centers in State and Union Territories by January 31.
The SC has directed the government, to take measures to open the Anganwadi centers in other parts excepting places that are COVID-19 sensitive.
The Anganwadi centers that were closed in March due to the lockdown have not opened yet. It is important to open the centers soon, keeping in mind the overall development of children below six years of age and engage them in regular activities. The SC has also instructed to provide nutrition to pregnant women and children who are suffering from malnourishment.
