Mysuru, July 21, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “Siddaramaiah has not invited me to join the Congress party. However, he has asked me not to join BJP. He has not even told me to stay in JDS too. I am telling you openly whatever he has told me,” observed MLA G.T. Devegowda.
Speaking in Mysuru today, he said, “I will inform you about my decision in the next two-three months. As Siddaramaiah lost in the last elections from the Chamundeshwari constituency, he is hesitant to contest from there. He is a CM aspirant again. Hence, he is hunting for a safe place. He is hunting for a constituency from where he can ensure his victory. He is yet to tour the State. Hence, he is calculating every aspect.”
In his reply to a question by Siddaramaiah question his contribution to the Chamundeshwari constituency, G.T. Devegowda replied softly. “Siddaramaiah has been an MLA, Deputy Chief Minister, Chief Minister. I have just been an MLA and a minister for a few months. Is it possible for me to work as much as he has done? I have never told anywhere that I have developed the constituency. I give the development credit to Siddaramaiah. The people of the constituency are aware of my contributions,” he said.
In his response to D.K. Shivakumar’s appeal to the vokkaliga community people to support him, G.T. Devegowda said it is too early to predict the pulse of the people, and we have to wait.
