Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Siddramaiah today alleged that the Union Government is cheating the people by increasing the prices of all essential commodities.
As the Assembly session commenced today, the Congress leaders expressed their ire on the State and Union Governments’ opposing the price hike by taking out a ‘bullock cart’ jatha in Bengaluru today.
Speaking to the media persons Siddaramaiah said, “the Union Government is cheating the people by increasing the prices of petrol, diesel, and other essential commodities. If we question the Union Government they will lie that the prices of fuel in the International market have increased, whereas the fuel prices at the international level have not increased.”
“They claim that the earlier government in the center has left behind the huge loan. But the Union Government has collected about Rs.24 lakh crores in the form of taxes in the last 7 years. We will continue our fight against the increase in prices of essential commodities inside the assembly,” he said.
