Mysuru, March 22, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “Achievers in various fields, who involved themselves in selfless social service are an inspiration for today’s youth,” opined Sri Thawar Chand Gehlot, Governor of Karnataka.
He inaugurated the 102nd Convocation of the University of Mysore, held at the Crawford Hall in Mysuru today.
In his address, he said, “it is the duty of all of us to felicitate all the achievers in our society. It encourages them to achieve more. Not only this, the selfless service of all the achievers will become an inspiration for the youth.”
“It is indeed a matter of pride for conferring honorary doctorates to achievers in various fields including Padmabhushan Dr. Vasudev K., the Late Puneeth Rajkumar (Posthumous) and M. Mahadevaswamy. All these people have engaged themselves in selfless social service apart from achieving in their respective sectors and have earned a permanent place in the hearts of the people. I congratulate all of them,” he observed.
“The democracy of our country enjoys special respect and recognition at the global level. Presently our country is celebrating its platinum jubilee independence year. The youth should make efforts to further strengthen our independence, which is gifted to us by our freedom fighters, and build a healthy society,” he added.
Dr. S.C. Sharma, Director, National Evaluation and Accreditation Centre, delivered the Convocation speech. Degrees were conferred on the students who earned gold medals in various subjects.
Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Registrar Prof. Shivappa, Raghavendra Rajkumar, and other dignitaries were present.
