Mandya, June 4, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Police prevented the Srirangapatna Chalo movement organized by the various pro-Hindu outfits demanding permission to offer pooja at the Jamia Masjid in Srirangapatna.
Following notice by the police the members of the various pro-Hindu outfits, along with the members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishat chanted Hanuman Chalisa at the Dasara Banni Mantap grounds. Thus, the Srirangapatna Chalo protest was restricted only to bhajan at the Dasara Banni Mantapa.
The members of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike demanded the police to video record the insides of the Jamia Masjid. Speaking on the occasion, “Bajrang Dal District Convener Basavaraj demanded that no food preparation should be made near the Masjid and offering namaz should be prohibited. The District administration should take action immediately. There are several pieces of evidence of Hindu deities, it is our responsibility to protect them. We won’t leave it even if we have sacrificed our lives. Our struggle will move on. We will fulfill our demands legally. We will follow the court’s orders,” he said and demanded the District Administration to inform what measures it has taken in this regard.
