Mysuru, Dec. 4, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): Opposition leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah conferred the State-level Kanakashri awards on Mysore University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar and Prajavani Executive Editor Ravindra Bhat.
The awards were conferred at a programme held at the Vignana Bhavan, in Manasagangotri, jointly organised by the Karnataka State Backward Castes Awareness Forum, Indian Dalit Literature Academy, Delhi, Karnataka Unit, on the occasion of Kanakadasa Jayanthi.
District-level awards were given to eight persons in recognition of their services, including A.M. Babu, Progressive Thinker, Mysuru District Journalists Association Executive Committee member, and Vijayakarnataka Senior District reporter Beeresh Kabini, Folk Song Singer Devanand Varaprasad, Young Talent Kum. M.P. Chetana, Young Thinker S.M. Siddaraju (Madhu), Social Activist N.S. Nagar, Young litterateur, Shreyas, and Sri Sarvajanika Kalidasa Vidyarthi Nilaya Trust President R. Indrani.
