Mysuru, June 17, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, signed an MoU with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research of Kolkata on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “I feel proud to say that the University of Mysore is entering into MoUs with several reputed research centers of the world in recent years. This MoU with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research is historic. This institute is established under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. This MoU is for a 5-year term.”
“Both the institutions will work together in relevant research works. Organizing cooperative research programs, conducting student training programs, exchange of Professors programs, distributing tools and facilities, and undertaking joint research programs are the objectives. The role of former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore Prof. K.S. Rangappa is vital behind this MoU. It will help the institutes that will take part in the future and upgrade the research activities,” he explained.
Former VC Prof. K.S. Rangappa and Lucknow Central Pharmaceutical Research Institute’s former Director Prof. Tapas Kundu have played a vital role in bringing both these institutions closer through this MoU, he added.
Prof. Arun Bandopadhyaya (Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Jadappar, Kolkata Director) and Dr. Gopalan (Hyderabad’s famous Pharma entrepreneur), Prof. R. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore, Prof. N.K. Loknath, Dr. S. Chandranayak, Dr. C.D. MOhan, and other teaching staff were present in the program.
