Mysuru, May 16, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The Department of Botany had organized a program to felicitate Prof. Shekhar Shetty and the Botanical Society and a special lecture program which was inaugurated by Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
In his address, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar observed that the program is special in the view of NAAC grading. “We have lot of benefits from such programs, and other Universities should also organize such programs,” he said.
“The alumnus of our college who have made achievement in Botany are being identified by the Botanical Society and felicitated. It is indeed very good. It will encourage the students. The Department of Botany has been publishing very good research articles. More than 250 students have obtained Ph.D. in Botany from our University,” he added.
The Department has published many research articles in reputed pre-reviewed journals and has also produced more than 250 Ph.Ds. The Botany department has also established Applied Botany and Bio-Technology and Microbiology Division also.
Prof. Nirajan, former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K.V. Raveesh, Prof. Vishwanath and others were present.
