UoM gets 33rd rank from NIRF

Mysuru, July 15, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The University of Mysore’s has earned 33rd rank from NIRF.
The University of Mysore has earned this significant ranking in a national-level survey undertaken by the NIRF of the Union Education Secretariat. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the list of ranking of the best higher educational institutions in the country today. The University of Mysore had secured 27th rank last year.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar informed that the University of Mysore secured first place in the State through its significant achievements.
Achievement despite several limitations
The NIRF has been evaluating higher education institutions across the country since 2015. The evaluation is done under various categories including ‘Overall Category,’ ‘Universities Category,’ ‘Engineering Institutions Category,’ etc. The University of Mysore had taken part in the first two categories this time. Despite several limitations like shortage of permanent teaching staff, etc., the University has secured 33rd ranking, which is appreciable.
Criteria
The University of Mysore has secured this ranking outscoring 100 universities in the aspects of teaching method, resources, research activities, professional experimentation, perspectives. The ranking is accorded by the National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF), approved by the Ministry of Human Resources, Govt. of India.
