Mysuru, August 26, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The University of Mysore syndicate meeting gave its nod to increase the remuneration of the guest lecturers who are serving in the research wing, central and affiliated colleges which come under the University of Mysore. The revised remuneration will be applicable from the month of October itself.
A decision in this regard was taken in the syndicate meeting held on August 22, in the leadership of Prof. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
The remuneration of guest lecturers have been fixed at the rate of Rs. 1,500 per hour, upto a maximum of Rs.50,000 per month as per the UGC norms. About 861 guest lecturers who are working under the University of Mysore had appealed to provide the remuneration as per UGC norms. In the meeting held on April 20 it was decided to form a committee to look at his matter. The committee conducted a meeting on August 16 and recommended to implement the revised remuneration from October. This recommendation was approved in the meeting held under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, on August 22.
Accordingly, 773 guest lecturers out of the total 861 will be receiving the revised remuneration from October . The remaining 88 guest lecturers have appealed in Hon’ble court demanding regularisation of their jobs. They will also be provided the revised remuneration after obtaining permission from the government.
