Mysuru, March 18, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): “Compared to any other university in the State, there is more number of foreign students in the University of Mysore,” observed Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He participated in the one-day orientation program organized by the International Centre, held at the Rani Bahaddur auditorium in Manasa Gangotri campus today. In his address, he said, “the number of enrolment of foreign students in the University of Mysore in the last two years
was less due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. But this year their numbers have increased, which is indeed happy to know. About 148 foreigners, including 92 from Afghanistan, have enrolled this year for various courses. This number is more compared to any other university.”
“Every time foreign students used to ask whether the University of Mysore would start engineering and pharmacy courses. This year Engineering College has been commenced, and Pharmacy college will follow soon. Students from other countries come to Mysuru to study by leaving their own country. Hence, we assure to protect you and take concern about you till you are here. Have an aim and develop required skills,” he advised. The International Student Advisory Book was released on the occasion.
ICCR former Regional Director P. Venugopal, ICCR Regional Officer Sudarshan Shetty, Rani Bahaddur Institute of Management Chief Prof. D. Anand, Mysuru Chapter President Syros Zaboli, and others were present.
