Mysuru, February 26, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore, and National hockey player Seethamma B.K. flagged off the World Marathon held at the Manasagangotri campus, organized by the School of Engineering, University of Mysore.
In his address, Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar observed, “I was dreaming of establishing an Engineer College when I was working as a professor. However, I got an opportunity after I became the Vice-Chancellor. We have started five Engineering courses after getting approval from the Govt. of Karnataka. I request the students to utilize the opportunity. I wish our Engineering College will stand out of the 240 other engineering colleges in the state.” He also appreciated the efforts of the college in organizing extra-curricular activities.
About 84 students of the engineering college participated in the 4 km marathon. The marathon, which commenced from the Engineering College campus, passed through the clock tower, Kuvempu statue, and reached the JC College and returned to the University campus. The first 10 winners were given prizes.
Prof Ananthapadmanabha T., Director, School of Engineering, Dr. Chethan H.K., Special Officer, University of Mysore, and Bharath Bhargav, Coordinating officer, were present.
