Mysuru, July 6, 2022 (www.justkannada.in): The India Today Survey has rated the School of Planning and Architecture, the University of Mysore as the 7th Best Architecture College at the National-level for the year 2022. It is the first best college in Karnataka State.
In a press statement issued by Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore has mentioned that India Today, in association with the Marketing and Development Research Associates (MDRA) conducts the “India Today Group MDRA Best Colleges Ranking 2022,” survey every year. This is a survey conducted to rank the best college based on certain criteria. According to the India Today survey the IIT Roorkee has earned first place, followed by ASPA, New Delhi in the 2nd place. The School of Planning and Architecture, University of Mysore has bagged the 7th ranking. The School had bagged the 7th rank in 2021-22 also.
The School of Planning and Architecture, University of Mysore has also earned 6th top architecture College in the Super Excellence in India – 2022 selections conducted by the Global Human Resource Development Center (GHRDC) and 3rd place in the South Region.
The University of Mysore commenced the B.Arch and M.Arch. (Urban Design) courses in 2002 and Ph.D. in Architecture in 2022-23. The students of this school have earned several awards including the National Best Thesis Award given by the Council of Architecture, New Delhi, and Prof. V.N. Prasad’s Best Thesis award, given by ITPI, New Delhi. The alumni of this college are serving in top positions in government and private companies in the national and international organizations.
The School of Planning and Architecture has entered into an MoU with the Center for Science and Environment, New Delhi, where students and teachers are provided an opportunity to learn modern technology and undertake research activities. The school has been recognized as the ‘Mentor’ institute by the Union Rural Development Secretariat, Government of India.
