Mysuru, August 28, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “The University of Mysore is the first to receive project under the UPE Program, which was approved in 2010. Hence, it is a pride for our University,” opined Prof. G. Hemanth Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore.
He released the Karnataka State Social Development and Media Report, at a program organized by the UGC-UPE program Executive Committee, held at the Vignana Bhavana auditorium in Manasagangotri today.
Speaking on the occasion, he informed that the objective of implementing the UPE program was to encourage research works in science and arts divisions. “It was a five-year program, which was extended for another five years. The ten years of research works are published in the form of 15 books. There is no doubt that these books will be of immense help to journalism and research students. I wish we will get more advantage through the National Research Foundation program too in the coming days,” he added.
Prof. Y.S. Siddegowda, Vice-Chancellor, Tumakuru University, Prof. Lingaraj Gandhi, Vice-Chancellor, Bangalore University, Prof. Muzzafar Assadi, Professor, Political Science Department, Prof. N. Usharani, Media Expert, Dr. M.S. Sapna, Professor, Dr. Mamatha, Assistant Professor, and others were present.
