Bengaluru, January 10, (www.justkannada.in): Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, Minister Govind Karajola, and other dignitaries have grieved over the demise of the veteran poet, litterateur Chandrashekar Patil, popularly known as Champa.
“I am deeply saddened to know the demise of Prof. Chandrashekar Patil (Champa). It is a huge loss to the literary world. The Kannada literary world has lost one of its gems. I pray to God to give the strength to all his family members and fans to bear this loss.” – Govind Karajola, Water Resources Minister.
“Sri Chandrashekar Patil was a pro-Kannada activist, poet, dramatist, organizer, journalist, and the former President of Kannada Sahitya Parishath. It is indeed very sad to know about his demise. Popularly known as Champa in the world of literature, his contribution to the Kannada language, land, and natural resources is immense. It is a huge loss to the state. May his soul rest in peace, and I pray to God to give the strength to his family members and fans to bear his loss.” – H.D. Kumaraswamy
