Bengaluru, December 31, 2021 (www.justkannada.in): “We have postponed the Karnataka Bundh upon the request made by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. We have not stepped back from it,” opined pro-Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj.
Members of the pro-Kannada organizations are protesting across the state, condemning the hooliganism of MES activists and demanding to ban it. The pro-Kannada organizations had also called for a Karnataka Bundh on December 31. However, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai spoke to the leaders, including Vatal Nagaraj, and requested them to withdraw their protest.
Following this, Vatal Nagaraj has announced that they have withdrawn their bundh call. Speaking to the media persons, he however insisted that the State Government should initiate action against the MES. “We have not completely stepped back from our protest. The CM has assured to take legal action against the MES. Hence, for the time being, we have withdrawn it. However, we won’t end it here completely,” he informed.
“There was a lot of pressure not to call for the bundh. But I won’t budge to such pressures. However, we have withdrawn it following the Chief Minister’s request. We have decided to take out a rally instead of the bundh. We also demand the government not to consider this lightly. It should compulsorily ban MES,” he demanded.
