Chikkaballapura, Nov. 17, 2020 (www.justkannada.in): Inaugurating the four-day long 67th All India Cooperative Week 2020, Minister S.T. Somashekar expressed his view that his government is committed to place Karnataka in the first place in the country in Cooperative sector and efforts in this regard has already commenced.
“Loan waiver of about 2.30 lakh farmers was pending during the earlier government. It is in fact our government that waived off Rs.5,092 crore loans of farmers. Loans waiver of only 40 farmers in Chikkaballapura and Kolar are pending which will be solved soon,” he added.
“It is aimed to disburse a sum of Rs. 39,300 crore loans through the ‘Aarthika Spandana’ programme launched under the Atmanirbhar Bharath yojana, by the State Government and Cooperative Department. The programme will be implemented through four divisions namely; Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kalaburagi and Belagavi and the process of distributing loans have already been started, he said.
